Here’s a reminder of why
Cal’s Week in Review is the best news source for all things hunting, fishing, and conservation.
This 2011 clip from Australia’s Today Show starts off fairly pedestrian. After an uncomfortable introduction and the kind of edgy innuendo you expect from a morning show, “shark expert” Paul Burt tries to catch a shark on live TV. I’m hesitant to use the title “shark expert” because his setup is better equipped to hook a striped bass than a bull shark. And the way he grabs the popper by the treble hook…cringe.
I don’t want to spoil what happens next, so you’ll have to watch the video. It’s the perfectly awkward climax to a perfectly awkward segment, but hosts Karl Stefanovic and Lisa Wilkinson recover nicely at the end.
“See, they don’t make that stuff in primetime.”
“Yeah, they don’t write that stuff for a good reason.”
