“Welcome to the mountains, boys,” said Philip Talbot, of Satsuma, AL, as he watched a black bear tighten its grip on a feral hog’s neck.
The scene took place in Great Smoky Mountains National Park near Gatlinburg, TN. Talbot spent five hours looking for wildlife in the park on Tuesday, but the greatest encounter he had was on the side of the road near his cabin.
“We originally thought it was a bear and cub until we got right up on them,” Talbot told WATE News. “That’s when the bear attacked, and we started videoing. Both lanes were stopped. We couldn’t believe what we were seeing. I’m an avid hunter and it was the craziest thing I’ve ever seen!”
That one is going to be hard to beat, Philip. The only thing wilder than a bear versus hog might be a whitetail versus angus bull.
