Void /void/
noun
The space above the lungs and below the spine on a big game animal. This space is non-lethal in most cases if an arrow or a round passes through. The projectile usually passes through this void without hitting vitals and makes an animal almost impossible to track and find.
Latvian Eagle: “I’ve seen holes in the side of elk. The bullet had entered under the spine and over the lungs in that void.”
