In this video, I'll teach you how to score a whitetail deer using four categories of measurements and some simple math. I'm an official scorer for the Boone & Crockett Club and have done this hundreds of times.
You'll first measure both main beams, all the tines, four circumferences on each side, and the inside spread. Add those together for the gross score of the rack. Then you deduct the side-to-side differences for the net score. I'll show you how to correctly measure the main beams, which is a common place to make an error. I also discuss how to mark the baselines of the tines. After watching this video you won't have to make up your deer's Boone & Crockett score anymore—you'll know it for a fact.
